First Out-of-State Tour - California Highway 1 - July, 2008

July 10 - July 18 2008

The “bucket list” trip. The trip that is one of the iconic rides in North America.  It ends up on most everyone’s “Top 10 Rides” list for a very, very long time.
This trip had a couple of goals.  One of them - can we be together this close together for this long?
Two - trees - big trees.  As I researched, there are two substantial groves of them.  One just south of the San Francisco area, and the major area, a bit south of Eureka, CA.
With a couple of weeks, a leisurely ride would be possible.  With just over a week, advancing our touring education on a trip like this is really important.  We would linger a bit in the Bay Area, by staying a couple of days in the region.  If we were doing well, we'd keep going north.  There still needed the time to get home factored in.

On this trip, with the added PakitRak luggage for additional space, it helped.  Yet there never quite seemed to be enough room for what you wanted, not necessarily needed.  Time to improve...
