I didn't nearly get the video I would have liked, but this a starting point. That was explained in my prior blog entry on this trip here:
https://kwthom.blogspot.com/2020/10/california-five-passes-ride-october-2020.html
Some people may know this, but there is a speed control function for YouTube. On a computer screen, click the gear icon on the lower right of the window. I mention this little trick because saving many of the videos at 2x speed for those that might just want to look at the scenery.
A total of five videos to share...enjoy!
A portion of California Highway 168 westbound between Oasis and Deep Springs, crossing Gilbert Summit at ~6370 ft.
Another portion of California Highway 168 westbound, this time between Deep Springs and the ghost town of Zurich, crossing Westgard Pass at ~7310 ft. It'll be difficult to see, but the pass is a single-laned road. Quite possible that it's little-changed in 100+ years of being used.
A bit of a change for me, not a 'stop-action' video, but a slideshow. As you see, there was quite a bit of smoke in the air. Sadly, this blocks the view of the mountains; the camera lens has lost quite a bit of resolution in what we actually were able to see while riding.
Westbound from near Reno NV along US-50, toward NV-28, then from NV-28, we turned onto CA-267 toward Truckee, CA.
Hampshire Rocks Rd, between Norden and Cisco Grove, CA in the Sierra mountains of California. There's an awful lot of history I've ridden by up here; this is certainly on the list to do again.
There's more to share from this trip; those videos have yet to be assembled at this time. My suggestion would be to come back to this blog entry in a few weeks to see if I've added more to this blog post.
