Yes, it has been a while since I've posted anything.  Time to catch up those reading along with some updates...

Death Valley ride

I didn't partake this year in the annual excursion to Death Valley.  As you may recall, I had documented that I felt like crap last year.  When I came home, my wife was in worse condition.  Surely, it had to be Covid-19, but apparently it wasn't.  Passing thru the Beatty area in October of last year, and with most things there still in a semi-closed condition, the whole point of the ride is to 'ride, socialize, and repeat'.  With a portion of that plan (at least in my mind) severely limited, it just didn't make sense to take that risk - even if that risk was small.

Trust me, I certainly know the Kingdom of Nye isn't going anywhere...nor is the park, Shoshone, Uebhebe, Furnace Creek, Badwater, Dante's, the Lida Pass pi$$ stop...all of it. Yeah, I missed it, but it's all about priorities.

I've got a lot of photos, and some video as well. This year I was content to look and watch at what I've collected. I do know that the few that did go, had a good time. I'm sure a small crowd made things a bit easier for everyone this year.

...and, most of all, stay healthy.  I'll return in 2022, I hope!

2020 Motorcycle mileage

I did an oil change on the bike just a couple of weeks ago.  Wow, it'd had been even longer than I had thought.  Nearly fourteen months and a little over 9000 miles.  Roughly a 25% decrease in riding in 2020 - including the ~2500 mile ride to California in October.  Go figure.  Thanks, Covid!

Local Rides

I've been dragging along the GoPro on a few local rides.

New Mexico highway 9 from Santa Teresa to Animas. Very neat history out here. Most of this highway parallels an old rail line. It was originally the El Paso & Southwestern, later consumed by the Southern Pacific. The rails were removed decades ago. This reminded me of the Basin & Range area of northern Nevada.

This was a scouting ride for a completely different reason. You'll read about it in another blog entry.

It might be another couple of months, though...
KWT Video Vault

A few months ago, I created a 'brand account' on YouTube. It makes it a bit easier to separate my publicly-shared videos with those that are not shared.   To this point, I've tried to use the blog to explain the videos in more detail than what I've written in the YouTube entries, where applicable.
