Moto Vlogging - Me? Ahahaha!

February 15, 2024

"A motovlog is a type of video log recorded by a person while riding a motorcycle or any motorized vehicle. The word is a neologism and portmanteau derived from "motorcycle", "video" and "log". A rider who creates video blogs known as a motorcycle blogger, and the action of making motovlogs is called motovlogging."

Yeah, okay.  Well, that's the first line of the Wikipedia entry Wikipedia Motovlog article.

I'll steal one more line from that (very short) article: "Many motovloggers do not show their face or the license plate of their motorcycle in videos. The British motovlogger, BaronVonGrumble, stated in an interview that anonymity exists to make the videos more mysterious and exciting to watch."

Mysterious? Interesting? Hardly.

My reasoning is...one day, I'll be old and away from motorcycles.  I'd like to have something for when that inevitability occurs to remember when I can.  I'm not so sure there's many out there that are recording for that reason.

Previous blog entries have described my difficulties in getting a 'good enough' product.  I later learned that the camera really didn't have a good-enough audio input to do the demanding audio recording effort to record the motorcycle, not the wind while riding the motorcycle.

So, my birthday present has been put into service, and I've slowly gotten better as the months have progressed.

The YouTube.com/KWT Video Vault link will take you to the entire library. A selection of recent videos are linked directly below:

The Vail to Sonoita Highway, a portion of the Patagonia-Sonoita Scenic Road, as designated by the Arizona Department of Transportation.

A short stretch (11 miles) of the Juan Bautista de Anza "Auto Route" in Pima County, Arizona.

Benson to Tucson along Interstate 10, January, 2024 on a rare-in-the-desert cloudy day. A portion of the Interstate 10 alignment rests upon the original alignment of U.S. Highway 80, also known as the Ocean to Ocean highway.

Improvements? Perhaps; probably the closest you'll be to actually riding along with me.  Plans for other videos in the future, but there's a lot more on the Youtube page - check it out!
